Martin Luther King Day Banner

Here is what you need:

ruler
scissors
9-by 12-inch piece of white felt
yarn
black permanent marker
cereal box cardboard
white glue
blue poster paint in two different skin shades and a paintbrush
newspaper to work on

Here is what you do:

1. Cut a 1 ½-inch-wide strip of cardboard 9 inches long to forma support for the top of the banner. Cut a 2-foot length of yarn and tie the ends together to make a hanger for the banner. Fold one of the 9-inch sides of the felt over the yarn hanger and the cardboard support and glue them in place.

2. Paint your palm one of the skin colors. Carefully make a handprint going up from the bottom of the banner.

3. Pain the other palm a different skin color. Carefully make a second handprint coming down from the top of the banner and just touching the other handprint. Let the paint dry.

4. Use the marker to write the words on your banner that Martin Luther King said: "I have a dream."

Do you know what Martin Luther King's dream was?
