Lace Snowflakes

Here is what you need:

ruler
white lace
scissors
yarn or string
thin white lace ribbon
white glue
water
margarine tub and craft stick for mixing
Styrofoam tray

Here is what you do:

1. Cut three 6-inch-long pieces of lace. Arrange the lace in a crisscross pattern like a wheel to make the six points of the snowflake.

2. Cut smaller pieces of lace   ribbon and yarn to put across the points of the snowflake. (Remember, each snowflake is different, and there are many possibilities. You will want to experiment with your own design.)

3. Mix one part water to four parts of glue in the margarine tub, stirring with the craft stick.

4. Dip each piece of the snowflake into the watery glue and redo your snowflake design on the Styrofoam tray. Let the glue dry completely before peeling the hardened snowflake off the tray.

5. Cut a 2-foot length of string or yarn. Thread one end through an opening in the snowflake design and tie the two ends together to make a hanger. if your snowflake does not have an opening to thread the hanger through, punch a hole in one of the points and use that.

Make lots of different snowflakes to hang at different levels in the window.
