Giant Shamrock

Here is what you need:

four 9-inch paper plates
green poster paint and a paintbrush
white glue
yarn
scissors
stapler
hole punch
gold glitter
paper cup and craft stick for mixing
newspaper to work on

Here is what you do:

1. Cut one side of each of the paper plates to look like the top of a heart. These will be the three leaves of the shamrock. Staple them together with the bumps on the outer edge to form the shamrock.

2. Cut a curved stem from the rim of the remaining paper plate. Staple it to the bottom of the shamrock.

3. Mix one part glue to two parts green paint in the paper cup. Paint the entire shamrock quickly, then sprinkle it with glitter while the glue and paint mixture is still wet.

4. Punch a hole in the top of the shamrock. Cut a 12-inch piece of yarn. Thread it through the hole and tie the two ends together to make a hanger.

This shamrock is too big to be carried off by the "little people."
